Breadcrumbs—tidbits of truth and morsels of the Majestic to keep you on course as we head for Home
Need a bit of encouragement? Some hope or a scrap of spiritual substance?
BREADCRUMBS is an ever-crumbling – which means always progressing and enlarging – space.
You can grab and go if you only have a moment. But come back when you can sit and savor these wholesome crumbs.
The Christian believes what God says. He has never seen heaven; he has never seen an angel; he has never seen the Redeemer; he has never seen a body raised from the grave. “But he has evidence which is satisfactory to his mind that God has spoken on these subjects,” and his very nature prompts him to confide in the declarations of his Creator. Those declarations are to his mind more convincing proof than anything else would be. They are more conclusive evidence than would be the deductions of his own reason; far better and more rational than all the reasonings and declarations of the infidel to the contrary. He feels and acts, therefore, as if these things were so – for his faith in the declarations of God has convinced him that they are so – The object of the apostle, in this chapter, is not to illustrate the nature of what is called “saving faith,” but to show the power of “unwavering confidence in God” in sustaining the soul, especially in times of trial; and particularly in leading us to act in view of promises and of things not seen as if they were so.
Barnes’ Notes On The Bible
Abide deeply
It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.
J.R.R. Tolkien
Life is a gift
The secret of contentment is the realization that life is a gift, not a right. Next to faith this is the highest art—to be content with the calling which God has placed you.
Martin Luther
Flesh or Spirit
If you learn virtue and goodness only from men or books, you will be virtuous according to time and place and outward forms. You may do work of humility and love. But the inward virtues are only to be obtained by the operation of the Holy Spirit—not outwardly teaching but inwardly bringing forth a newborn spirit within.
Andrew Murray
I’m sure I can figure this out.
If we as Christians rely only on our human understanding, we cannot understand or experience that the fellowship of the Spirit is a fellowship of the cross.
Wait on God to teach you divine truths through the Spirit.
Andrew Murray
Which way should I go?
Christian, if you would know the path of duty, take God for your compass; if you would steer your ship through dark billows, put the tiller into the hand of the Almighty.
Many a rock might be escaped if we would let our Father take the helm; many a shoal or quicksand we might well avoud if we would leave it to His sovereign will to choose and to command.
Charles H. Spurgeon
Pssst . . . Your Faith is Showing
Our actions speak of our true condition, what we are really like.
Steve Gallagher
The Responsibility of Grace
Grace is not only a gift; it is a grave responsibility. A man cannot go on living the life he lived before he met Jesus Christ. He must be clothed in a new purity and a new holiness and a new goodness. The door is open, but the door is not open to the sinner to come and remain a sinner, but for the sinner to come and become a saint.
William Barclay

COLLABORATE
LORD, this collaboration between Creator and clay is holy.
Help me embrace the gifts You have given, the days You have ordained, and the purposes for which I have been created. I humbly place myself in Your loving hands.
My heart’s desire is to collaborate with You. Do as You will. And as I see You at work, let me bow low and worship.
I give all my thanks to God, for his mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One! So if left to myself, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles.
Romans 7:25 TPT
